FOSDEM 2025 Talk Recording
There was talk about CMRX at FOSDEM 2025. This talk was held in Microkernel and component-based OS devroom. All talks usually tend to have recordings available after the conference is over.
The FOSDEM 25 unfortunately experienced some difficulties when managing streaming and recording. This is not a big surprise. FOSDEM is really a huge conference with many people attending it and is ran using volunteers. The sheer fact they manage to stream some ~1200 talks over two days is an act of heroic performance. The video team did their best yet still, the load was larger than the system could withstand.
Thus, many talks suffer from partial content loss. Talk about CMRX is not an exception. Several, roughly 90 seconds-long segments were lost from the talk and could not be recovered. Despite this unfortunate situation I decided to publish the talk for those who could not attend the talk in person. FOSDEM is chronically known for this - you can’t be in two places at one time.
Link to the talk below. Be warned that talk suddenly skips two or three times, first skip happens just few seconds into video, so the recording skips from intro straight into me explaining how I’ve been reading book about operating system design and discovered QNX floppy demo.
You can help to navigate the talk by watching slides.
